Why have a
Maternity Photography Session?
l
I had my own maternity photos taken and I’m over the moon that I did. My lovely friend Cheryl convinced me to have them taken. It was at the time where I felt so very far from attractive, I was exhausted. Not only did I have pregnancy complications, but I had a very loud and lively toddler to take care of. Despite my initial reservations, I loved the photos and the session.
My Reservations
d
Let’s talk about my reservations. A lot about being a mum is being selfless. As soon as you are pregnant you do everything you can for your baby, changing your diet, taking vitamins, attending antenatal courses, preparing the house, etc etc. So it seems almost counterintuitive to spend time on a photography session which focuses on you. The thing is though, it inot all about you. This is something I realised almost as soon after I booked my session. This is why…
To Boost Your Confidence
d
When you’re pregnant, it’s easy to focus on all the things you don’t like about your body. But a maternity photo shoot can help you see yourself in a new light. You’ll have the chance to dress up in gorgeous maternity clothing and capture your pregnancy glow in stunning photos.

fall in love for a lifetime
Self Care
d
A maternity photo shoot is also a great way to take some time for yourself. During pregnancy, it’s easy to get caught up in all the preparations for your new arrival. But a maternity photo shoot is a chance to relax and focus on yourself.
Taking care of yourself is not just good for you, but it’s also good for your baby. When you’re feeling confident and relaxed, you’re better able to cope with the challenges of pregnancy and motherhood. So if you’re feeling self-conscious about your body during pregnancy, consider booking a maternity photo shoot. It’s a great way to boost your confidence and celebrate this special time in your life.
Celebrate your Motherhood journey
d
Whether this is your first or fifth baby, the journey to motherhood begins with pregnancy. During this time, your body undergoes profound changes to support the growth and development of your baby. These changes are amazing, and they are a testament to the power of the female body.
Tell your baby’s Story
d
These photos mark the beginning of your baby’s story. They can be a cherished reminder of this special time in your life, and they can be a wonderful way to share your story with your child when they are older. I often look back on my own maternity photos with Aidan. He loves pointing out that he was in my tummy during the photos. These photos can be a wonderful way to show your child how much they were loved and wanted even before they were born.
Bonding with your Children
d
While to some, bringing children along to a maternity session might be a no no, but I’m speaking from experience when I say it can be really beautiful. Elliott joined me for my maternity photoshoot, with my mum there to help. It was a way to include him in the excitement of his baby brother’s arrival, and he was very excited.
The session was a lot of fun, and it was a great way to capture the special bond between Elliott and me. I’m so grateful that we were able to do it together.
I hope this post has given you some incite on just how wonderful a maternity session is. If you do have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out and contact me here.
I wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy 🙂
