First Chapter
I’ve been creating Newborn photography in Surrey from my woking studio since 2012. Since then I have been lucky enough to have two gorgeous baby boys of my own. Becoming a mummy has given me an even greater appreciation of those first few days. I absolutely adore the newborn images of my children. I want you to feel the same sense of wonderment and pride when you look at your baby’s newborn portraits.
To suit all requirements and budgets I offer two options. The Full Newborn Session and Mini Newborn Session. You are welcomed into my studio your session, where you will be totally taken care of. There is a comfy sofa, some tasty treats and plenty of drinks on offer. Sessions are very carefully styled with my large range of beautiful colour palettes for you to choose from. The palettes include handmade props, colours, tones and textures that coordinate beautifully to create a stunning collection of images. Before your session, I will discuss the styling options with you. You can select from a range of colours perfectly suited for every home decor and style.

M y newborn sessions typically take place within the first 21 days. The curled up newborn images are achieved early on within the first 6-21 days as the baby is comfortable in these positions after being in the womb. However, in these recent times, I have been photographing older newborns up to 6 weeks of age. What we can achieve varies depending on their stage of development. With older newborns there tends to be more of a mix of sleepy and wide awake photos. While they, might not have quite the same curliness as newer babies, often they start to show their little character and sometimes even a smile.
As well as taking photos of your baby, the session also includes parent and siblings photos. Being a mother myself, I am all too familiar with the varying emotions that come with being a parent. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible. The session is not rushed but relaxed. Carefully planned around baby’s sleeping and feeding routine. This enables us to get a series of images which really capture the beauty of your baby at this stage.

You may be looking for a Newborn photographer in Surrey who offers smaller newborn session. I designed this simple session for people who might be on a budget or those who have missed the Full Newborn Experience. For babies up to 8 weeks old. It is all about baby. Parent and sibling images are not included. You can choose one colour backdrop and wrap with coordinating bonnet or headband. There is no use of additional props. Sessions last 1 hour. I select and edit the best 4 images, which are sent to you in an online gallery in print resolution for you to download.

The Studio

The studio is nestled in the quiet Surrey Village of Bisley in Woking, Surrey. Our location is short drive from both junction 2 of the M3 and the M25. We serve clients throughout the South East, including Woking, Guildford, Chobham, Cobham, Weybridge, Addlestone, New Haw, Virginia Water, Godalming, Lightwater, Bagshot, Bracknell, Ascot, Sunningdale, Walton on Thames, Camberley, Farnham and beyond.
Every inch of the studio has been optimised to welcome Newborns, babies, children and families. Additionally, I have my own dedicated area storage area for my handmade photography props, so the studio remains clutter free and organised. This all helps to create a peaceful relaxing atmosphere for your baby photoshoot.
During Newborn sessions, many parents take advantage of the quiet time, and catch up on some much needed missed sleep.

HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION TAKE?
I ask that you set aside 2-3 hours for your session. This is so you don’t feel rushed but relaxed, enabling us to get a set of natural images that truly reflect you.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BABY IS EARLY OR LATE?
Babies rarely arrive on their due date (only 4% in fact), so I take on a limited number of Newborn Sessions per month to give me the flexibility to schedule your newborn session. I just ask that when your little one is born, you please add me to the announcement text or email. Then I will send you an email with dates for your newborn session.
CAN PARENTS AND SIBLING BE IN THE PHOTOS?
Yes! I absolutely encourage this! This is a BIG chapter in your family story, it’s so lovely, not only for you but your baby to be able to look back on these images. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
HOW DO I KEEP MY OTHER CHILD QUIET DURING THE SESSION?
You don’t! It’s super hard for any little one to stay quiet for a newborn session (or any length of time for my children?). Siblings are of course always welcome to be involved in the session. Photos with siblings/ family are taken at the start of the session. I do ask that a family member or friend collect the sibling/s once the photos are taken, so they are not waiting allowing boredom to set in. We can then spend the remaining of the session focusing on your beautiful newborn in a calming and relaxed atmosphere.
HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?
I’ve been a Surrey Newborn Photographer for over 10 years. I’ve had extensive training with some of the best photographers in the UK and internationally. Over my 10 plus years as a professional photographer, I have photographed over 100 babies, spending countless hours perfecting my craft, from shooting to editing to posing.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Co-ordinated clothing works very well. Think about any wall art you would like, and where you will hang it so it blends in beautifully with your home. I will advise you on clothing and be on hand to give you any advice where needed.
WHAT AGE DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH NEWBORNS UP TO?
Please don’t worry about your baby being “too old”. Like many photographers, in the years before Covid I used to photograph Newborns in the first 3 weeks. Covid made me reassess things, as I started photographing older newborns up to 8 weeks of age and loved the images. As a result I have now extended my shoots to included babies up to 8 weeks old. What we can achieve varies depending on their stage of development. With older newborns there can be a mix of sleepy and awake photos, but each baby is different, some 8 week old babies sleep the entire session while some 10 day old babies are awake a lot of the time. Either way I am confident I can get you some beautiful photos for you to treasure.
HOW LONG WILL MY IMAGES TAKE?
Your images are typically ready within three weeks after your session. I will then send you a link to your own password protected gallery for you to view the images.
