Alpheton Hall Barns Wedding Photography
When Gavin and Emma asked me to photograph their wedding it was a true honour. I met Gavin a few years ago and more recently got to know gorgeous Emma, who I instantly clicked with (we ended up chatting for most of the night on our first meeting). During their fun filled London engagement shoot, I learned all about their big day and could not wait to photograph it! Emma and Gavin, thought about every little detail and put their heart and souls in to planning their wedding. I loved hearing all about it.
The Venue for their wedding was a rustic working farm, Alpheton Barns. I love barn weddings and this venue did not disappoint. The gorgeous beams and quirky features provide a fabulous backdrop for any wedding. What’s brilliant about it, is that you are given a blank canvas to decorate to your hearts content, so if you’re a bride with style and creativity, like Emma, it’s full of potential.
The morning of the wedding was peaceful, relaxed and full of laughter. Emma got ready in a charming pink cottage just 5 minutes away from the Barns, where the bridal party all stayed the night before.
The cottage had a conservatory which included a Well below the floor covered over by dazzling turquoise stain glass (prefect for photos of the flowers).
As a present Emma brought her bridesmaids really cute matching dressing gowns, which they wore for the bridal prep. Sophie Noble from Lolly Lou and Carly Davis from Beyond Beauty did a fabulous job with the girl’s hair and make-up. I think you’ll agree both Emma and her bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning.
Wow, just wow, this wedding did not disappoint. I was in photography heaven as I photographed all of the little details. Emma and Gavin chose a vintage theme (I adore all things vintage and DIY), this wedding was full to the brim of personality. From pinned up photos showing Emma and Gavin through the years, to the little ‘E&G’ letters in the ceremony room. This wedding had it all.
When I met Gavin before the ceremony he was the picture of calm… at least on the outside. I loved hearing the guest’s remark on how beautifully the room was decorated (from experience I know this will mean the world to Emma). Emma looked radiant as she walked down the aisle in her elegant Ronald Joyce dress. It was a heartfelt and beautiful ceremony.
The cocktail hour entertainment was provided by Paul the piano man, who played a great set. There was a wonderfully cheerful atmosphere as I took the group photos.
The grounds of Alpheton Hall Barns, provides so many creative possibilities for the photos.
We had so much fun, as I took Emma and Gavin for their couple portraits.
Thankfully some exquisite autumn sun even made an appearance.
The speeches were both poignant and jovial. Bridesmaid Faye, gave a surprise speech for Emma. There was such a good-humoured feeling in the room, causing the guests to erupt into laughter throughout.
The food was absolutely delicious. There was a particular commotion as a huge 4ft desert cup was brought out, full of yummy Eton Mess.
Emma had a gorgeous cake with sweetheart candy’s, which was lovingly made by a family friend.
Sax on Fire provided the evening’s entertainment, getting the room into full swing. I couldn’t help but have a little dance as I was taking the dance floor photos.
The day was every bit as beautiful and fun-filled as I thought it would be. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and was made to feel a special part of the whole day.
Thank you so much Emma & Gavin for choosing me to tell the story of your amazing day.
